Valley Presbyterian Christian School - Physical Education

In order to give your child/children a well-balanced experience, Valley Presbyterian School provides a program of physical education where the sole purpose is to conduct classes in physical education. State law and school policy require that children participate in P.E. for a specific period of time each week.

Our program is one that has a fourfold purpose:

  1. Physical condition (Monday-Thursday Calisthenics for 4th through 6th grade is additional requirement)
  2. Development of individual skills (basketball, softball, volleyball, handball, etc.)
  3. Socialization through group play
  4. Christian sportsmanship

Mr. David Augur

Coach & P.E. Instructor

Coach David Augur began teaching physical education at V.P.S. in 1999. Coach Augur has extensive coaching experience in all major sports through years of working with Los Angeles Baptist High School, V.C.A.A. and community sports teams. Mr. Augur has a degree in Marine Sciences and is a member of Valley Presbyterian Church. His three sons attended V.P.S. from preschool through sixth grade.

“I enjoy being a part of building a Christian foundation for our kids at V.P.S. One of the main reasons I love to teach is seeing the light come on in a student’s eyes when they first understand a concept you’ve been teaching them. It’s a joy to see them understand, apply it, and become successful at what you’ve been teaching.”
