Valley Presbyterian Christian School - Faithful Friends - 2 yrs by Sept. 1
FaithfulFriends

Welcome to the Faithful Friends Class. Our name originates from Proverbs 17:17 which says “A friend loves at all times.” Through interactive play, our terrific twos begin to form friendships, develop self awareness, and learn to care for one another. The children become immersed in the learning process as they engage in interactive activities like our special designated “color days”. On those days we wear clothes, eat foods, and create art all from the color of the month. Self expression and creativity are fostered as the children participate in sensory activities like finger painting, and various indoor and outdoor activities. Shapes, colors, and letter sounds are introduced, and we assist with potty training and good hygiene habits which promote independence. Cooking, Spanish, gardening, library, and computer time are also a part of the Faithful Friends classroom. We enjoy going to chapel where our friends learn how to pray, worship through songs and singing, and explore just how much God loves us.

Welcome to the God’s Garden Classroom. Our day is full of many activities that allow the children to explore and experience the wonderful world around them. We learn about being patriotic as we recite the pledges to the American and Christian flags, and we discover God’s love for us as we read the Bible, sing songs and go to chapel. Independent decision making, increased attention span, handwriting, letter-sound recognition, following directions and developing friendships are all part of God’s Garden. We become immersed in rhymes as we engage in the Heggerty Phonemic Awareness program, and enjoy learning the sounds of the letters through the Zoo-phonics activities. It is so exciting when we begin connecting the sounds to form and begin reading words. We also enjoy cooking, Spanish, gardening, library, and computer time. We learn the skills that will help us to be good students in order to prepare for kindergarten.
