One of our major goals at Valley Presbyterian School is to develop leaders that desire to serve Christ, school, church and community. The V.P.S. Student Council represents the student body, serves as a liaison between administration and students, and participates in multiple activities that benefit the entire school.

Officers in Student Council are selected through an application process and reviewed by the administration. Interested students must have satisfactory grades, excellent citizenship and a desire to serve their school. Officer candidates are selected from fifth and sixth grade applicants only and serve for the entire school year. Representative from each 4th, 5th, and 6th grade class are also selected to serve on the Council. They must earn a 2.0 grade point average and have satisfactory marks in social and work habits throughout their year of service.

  • Student Council meetings are held once a week during the lunch hour. Members make weekly reports to all classrooms, host chapels, manage the Student Store, and assist with multiple school functions such as the All School Breakfast and Family Fun Night.
  • Each year, the Student Council takes a field trip to a local Christian high school to observe a student government meeting at an older level. Students are encouraged to gather ideas for V.P.S. and hopefully be inspired to participate in student government at the next level.
  • All Student Council members receive a Student Council polo shirt, pin, notebook and I.D. Card. The Principal is the Advisor to the Student Council and supervises all meetings and activities.
